When I tell you the rain showed up and decided to stay all day—I mean it. But instead of dampening the mood, it turned Kylie and Jarred’s Tudor House Wedding on Portage Lakes into something completely magical.

The Tudor House at Mason’s Cove sits right along Portage Lakes, surrounded by tall trees, stone paths, and that old-world charm you can’t fake. Even with the gray skies, the whole property glowed with warm light and happy chaos—umbrellas everywhere, guests cheering, and the sound of rain hitting the tent just as they said “I do.”

Getting Ready in Historic Charm

Inside, the morning felt peaceful. Kylie slipped into her lace gown in one of the mansion’s bridal suites—soft light, polished wood floors, and a calm that didn’t quite match the storm brewing outside. Jarred waited downstairs, boutonniere in hand, with his friends already cracking jokes and adjusting his jacket for the fifteenth time.

That first look on the staircase? Pure emotion. A quick exhale, a hand squeeze, and suddenly the rain didn’t matter anymore.

A Rainy Tudor House Wedding Ceremony by the Water

The ceremony took place under the lakeside tent, overlooking Portage Lake. Guests huddled together with umbrellas and smiles while the rain pattered softly on the canvas above. There were no doors, no walls—just open air, laughter, and the sound of the lake just beyond the aisle.

When Kylie walked toward Jarred, everyone collectively melted. And when they kissed under that gray sky, it felt like the world paused for them.

Dancing Through the Storm

By the time portraits rolled around, the drizzle softened to a mist—and these two fully embraced it. Barefoot steps, umbrellas swinging, and a quick twirl in the puddles (the kind of moment you can’t plan but always remember).

Inside the Tudor House, the cozy glow from string lights and candles made it feel like the perfect rainy-day hideaway. Friends lifted Jarred for a group photo, guests toasted with champagne, and the night ended with everyone dancing under the tent like it was the best kind of storm.

A Few of My Favorite Details

  • The sage green details woven throughout—rings tied with ribbon, floral accents, bridesmaid dresses—perfectly matched the lakeside setting.
  • The floral design paired dried pampas and greenery that looked stunning against the rain-darkened stone walkway.
  • Their getaway shot under one clear umbrella? Total storybook ending.
